Manny Paraschos

A PERSONAL REMEMBRANCE

A profession with an intellectual foundation.

Rob names Manny Paraschos among the professors who influenced him at Emerson.

Emerson’s remembrance describes thirty years of teaching, the development of its journalism program, and a commitment to the intellectual foundations of reporting. He retired in 2018.

His Boston Journalism Trail connected journalism’s history to the city’s streets. He also co-published Media Ethics with Tom Cooper. Those projects make a fitting connection to this portfolio’s interest in words, judgment and place.

The family obituary records his death on July 30, 2023, at 77. It also directs readers to the scholarship he established for first-generation journalism students at Emerson.
